We are celebrating 30 years of a much loved community group — The Ark, formerly known as Goodwood Mums and Tots. Part of the work of Goodwood Evangelical Church, this group was set up in 1984 as a place where Mums could bring their pre-school children to play and meet others, and lasting friendships have been formed over the years as a result. Hundreds of mums, dads, grandparents and carers have come through the doors ever since and you may be one of them!
Carla Ammann has been coming to the group for a number of years. She says,
I have been coming to the group for 26 years, with my own children and now as as a childminder. It is a fabulous group with a really nice, friendly atmosphere. The children love coming, to play, do art activities and make new friends, whilst giving me a break from the house. We have a brilliant Christmas party and farm trip in the summer which we all really look forward to as well. It's a testimony to itself the fact it's been running for 30 years.
We still meet every Wednesday morning in term time where the children (and the adults!) enjoy crafts, refreshments, a short story from the Bible and the ever popular singing time. We're very much a family, as can be seen by our celebration on Saturday October 4th (2pm - 5pm), but new faces are always welcome.
